progress report

My progress report from the past week:

1. Yesterday I finished up one of the two project proposals required this semester. It’s Spring Semester already!! When I finish the other one I will share them both.

2. I have been sketching out ideas for a couple of zines that I plan on showing (and maybe selling) at the Buffalo Small Press Book Fair in March.

3. I joined ILSSA! This is helping me with Goal #1.

4. I bought a new set of shelves to better organize my walk-in closet. It’s getting there! Soon Goals #3 and #5 will be crossed off my list!

Progress!!

This week’s progress report:

1. I slapped on another layer of paint for Megan & Sara and will be HAND DELIVERING the painting to Sara this weekend. Yay! We’re so close to being finished. SO CLOSE!

2. I have been working on the Gallery portion of my website, but still not 100% satisfied with it yet.

3. I am 75% through the first book on my reading list.

4. I went supply shopping for school. Spring Semester starts next week!

OK, so I have been completely OBSESSED with re-designing my website over the last week. So, for my progress report today I am going to obsess about it a little more. The above image is the new splash page. The photograph is from my video Mapping/Mapping.

The “new” site is live, but not completely finished. The Gallery page especially I am not ready to show yet. I reached a point where I just couldn’t stand to look at the “old” design anymore! Ha! Now that I’m in graduate school, part of re-designing my Gallery page is phasing out my BFA work from my MFA work. (All of my work is available for view on flickr.)

What do you think? I am hoping to have this finished up in a couple of weeks, but we all know this is a constant work in progress!

progress report

Going along with my goals for 2011 I am starting a new weekly feature on my blog: progress report. Every Wednesday I will update you with progress I am making on current projects and the goals I listed last week. This is just another way for me to keep track of my own work and keep me accountable for my time!

Here is what I’ve been up to the past few days:

> I FINALLY picked out a book to read! More info on that next week. (Goal #6)

> I made my creativity chart and started coloring in boxes! (Goal #1)

> I started sketching out some ideas for a new photo series. If the weather cooperates, I hope to be able to shoot this weekend. The big debate right now? Digital or film? I haven’t used my Hasselblad in a while, perhaps I should pick up some of my fav film!

> I mailed my first pen-pal letter to NJ! Heads-up Rach! (Goal #7)

Yay for progress!!

Wow! I am off to a running start with my goals this year! I came across Eerika Valkonen’s idea of a “Creativity Chart” via Jen Collins’ blog and immediately started pulling out my markers!

Number one goal on my list this year (and every year) is to continue to CREATE! This chart is going to be a nice colorful reminder to do so! Fun!
