I came across this quote a few weeks ago and haven’t been able to get it out of my head. I think it still speaks the truth, having lived in NYC for 6 months now, in both the cold and hot, NYC is definitely one of a kind!
New York is noisy.
New York is overcrowded.
New York is ugly.
New York is unhealthy.
New York is outrageously expensive.
New York is bitterly cold in the winter.
New York is steamy hot in the summer.
I wouldn’t live outside New York for anything in the world.
The New Yorker 1925
My first weekend after moving here to NYC I went to the Barnes and Noble on 5th and bought Here is New York by E.B. White. This quote from The New Yorker reminds me of this book.
Only a certain type of person can live/survive here. Some flock from all over the world to live here, to be New Yorkers. Me? I moved down here for a job, a good paying job to pay off my insane amount of student loans. How long do I plan on staying? I’m not sure at this point. I can honestly say though that I can see myself living elsewhere…
