Open House at VSW

THIS THURSDAY (October 13) Visual Studies Workshop will be holding an Open House event from 6-10 pm.

See Transitions-Rochester, an international collaboration including portraits and interviews with civic leaders of Rochester, NY, a mural by Rochester street artists, a sound installation made beneath the downtown and a video about housing after the 1964 riots. Provide your own commentary on the exhibition and Rochester in a video booth. Fun!

MFA students, faculty and student interns have created dynamic visual displays from the Workshop’s Research Center collection of vernacular photographs, fine art photographic prints, artists’ books, lantern slides, films, videos and more. I was in charge of the artists’ book display. I love artist books!

Lantern slides, news agency photos from the 1930s, issues of Afterimage and artists’ books from VSW Press will all be available for sale. Who doesn’t love to shop? Support the arts! Support VSW!

Come and experience the VSW community and speak with visiting artists, graduate students (I’ll be there!) and faculty!
